Hello, dear readers. I thought for a long time how to convey my impressions of the game, which would be discussed today. And it seems, he came up with. For this I will need your help. Especially for those interested, I post a step -by -step instruction:
1. Take two stools, put them nearby at a distance … Let it be half a meter.
2. Rest on stools with your hands and raise your legs. About the same as you do when you download the press on the bars.
3. Small the stool from yourself, spit on your ass.
4. Stand from the floor, make comfortable in your favorite chair. Drink a cup of tea or coffee (which is more to taste). If you are not trying to lose weight by the summer, eat candy or chop (which is more to taste).
Ready. You can start reading.

I am an anarchist. I want at the end I insert the positive, I want – at the beginning

So, Kyn is a role-playing strategic game developed by the Dutch studio Tangrin Entertainment (consisting of two people) together with a single screenwriter, animator, composer, and someone else. The basis for creating the world was Scandinavian mythology, and the gameplay is a mixture of dynamic Hask & Slash and a verified strategy, where even a tactical pause is. Riddles, craft and other interests are attached. But all this is just a description from the store. What Kyn really turned out to be, I’ll tell you now.

Classic fantasy … or boring template

Kyn meets a hackneyed tie: two friends, Alrik and Brahm, have just passed some test and became "Magnes’ warriors". Now they must protect civilians, feed homeless kittens and use the location of the beauties. But instead of the sweet aroma of a welcoming moonshine, you have to inhale the bitter smell of smoke: the native hut is canonically burned out before the eyes of future heroes. Naturally, now the guys will have to fight evil, save the world and solve ancient riddles in order to find no less ancient artifacts to overcome evil and save the world. Of course, their wise mentor will not live to the finals, and somewhere among the statists-characters there is a “sent Cossack” of evil forces.

It is this tent town that the heroes call the "native village"

In principle, such a set could be given a strong, albeit not claiming to be a masterpiece, the plot. Such that he could give the player the motivation to move forward, simultaneously overcoming the obstacles set by developers and evil forces. Alas, not this time. The story is presented as colorless as possible, and most events and tasks are generally described in three or four dry lines. "They attacked the city, beat off the attack". "The villages were captured, go help out". "Everyone died :(". Because of this, all the tragedies of the world Kyn seem to be a summary of news from another country. And the reaction to this is appropriate: you seem to understand that something bad has happened, but you can’t squeeze out a tear, because the trouble happened somewhere far away, with strangers.

Think for yourself what sympathy can be discussed when the next “hero” gives something like: “My city was destroyed, evil forces were captured by my family, so I’m sad. Now I will join your group, I will help you save the world. But do not forget: if we meet my wife and children on the way, they will also have to be saved ". And his family is really “found” along the way. At the time of a touching reunion, the character will give out: “UV. Here they are. Well, let them stomp to some safe place, and we will go further ".

You feel sorry for this skeleton? I don’t feel sorry for

No, sometimes heroes try to give out at least a few of some phrases. They just say they are too fast, and do it at the most inappropriate points. You are sitting like this, trying to develop an attack on the next group of enemies, and on the next screen the characters with a tongue twister are “revealed”. You can read their dialogs except in the hanging window of the “chat”, but few people “hanging” seem worthy of attention. And yes, I did not find the expected “Scandinavian mythology”: Magnes, two -legged lizards, portals to another world … Though kill, I don’t remember where the Vikings were where. But I could be mistaken, if that – correct me in the comments.

Role system

But with gameplay everything is not so trivial. The heroes do not receive the usual "experience". Instead, at the end of each mission, they give out five points of characteristics that can be poured into the “mind”, “body”, or “control”. Depending on the chosen “development path”, the character will receive magical, military or robber skills.

When "pumping" do not need to think. Just poke your mouse in the desired plus. Any attribute increases all the characteristics of the hero, automatically “adjusting” them to the selected “class”. So, the magician we will pump the “mind”, so he will receive more mana (or not mana, I forgot what it is called here) and less life. With a warrior, the opposite. If you want to change something, not a problem. You can redistribute characteristics points at any time. The only restriction is that the character should not fight, eat, sleep, watch porn, or do other urgent matters.

This is what the character screen looks like

Unfortunately, the set of skills itself is rather scarce. If at the second hour of the game my magician could treat himself and other characters, then at the twentieth hour he got the opportunity … it was a little better to treat himself and other characters. And in general, all the progress in the game is built precisely on the scheme "The further, the more popping up dials". Weapons, armor, skills, economics – already in the first couple of hours you will see everything that the game can offer. It’s just that over time, the weapon becomes more painful, the “armor” indicator at the armor will increase, and prices will rise about as much as the heroes will find in the process of salvation of the world. Of course, no development in such conditions is felt, and the desire to understand at first the curious system goes into the desire to eat, sleep, see porn, or do other urgent matters.

Google translator with the wording did not help

On this joyless background, https://nongamstopsites.uk/review/spins-heaven/ special skills stand out favorably, the so -called “Feed Skills” (I could not come up with a suitable Russian -speaking formulation). This works as follows: stuffing into a special cell “Feed Stone”, we stick up the corresponding skill nearby. There are nine, three for each “class”, and each in their own way modifies skills. For example, it changes the ability to establish a attending light (a stone of life), on the ability to knock the enemy with an ice block (ice stone). Stones are also charged in different ways: “life”-when someone is treated nearby, “death”-when someone dies nearby, “ice”-in the cold, “fire”-from fire, and so on. The system is quite curious, even despite the fact that skills often have to “charge” right before the battle. Having once again read the spell of treatment, frost, or just standing at the nearest fire.

The game has two very funny stone. One charges when the character runs. The second-when someone is near the character. Now imagine: before the next fight, one hero with a fighting cry “I will charge a battery and add it to everyone!", Winds circles in the meadow and the second catching up with it with shouts" Wait, without you, my battery does not charge!".

Strange bestian, tactics without tactics, wrong hardcore

Unfortunately, even the same “Feed Skills” have to change rarely. There are two reasons. The first is half of these skills are either not necessary, or inconveniently because I do not want to use them. The second reason is in “standardized” enemies, which are divided into only three types:

– White – useless boobs, a typical "extras";
– purple – strong blanks, if you do not kill them quickly, there may be problems;
– “Bosses” and “demigosses” – the first are few (four things), they go one by one and are dangerous; I’m not sure about the existence of the second.

Unfortunately, I could not find an interesting screenshot with enemies. Therefore, you can look at the dancing guests … Ugh you, Avashirov

The main problem of local bestiaria is that for the most part all enemies require the use of the same tactics. Even such a thing as “resistance to the elements” in Kyn is quite rare. Yes, over time, the “Airyr Mage” will change to the “ghost-mag”, and then to the “lizard with a stick”, but this will practically not change anything. Yes, there are lizards with shields that need to be bypassed from the back, and there are extremely curious hydra, after death, smaller opponents scattering on a heap. But this is not quite what I expected from a twenty -hour RPG.

And there are also exploding enemies-Kamikadze. The most mediocre I have seen in games. The fact is that they notice the player the very first, and run on the attack on their own. As a result, even if someone from the party dies, he will have time to safely resurrect and recover (this is free) before the start of the main battle.

And then I want to admit to the dake that for some reason I started playing at the difficulty level "Hard". In this way lasted about fourteen hours, and passed a little more than half of the game. And throughout these fourteen hours, all tactics came down to the above division of enemies into “whites”, “purple” and “protective lizards”. Well, the hydra is nasty, but they go one by one, and therefore are not too big a problem.

"Weak skeletons" are found at almost all levels of the game. If at first they can cause difficulties, closer to the end it becomes a pity.

As for the tactical possibilities, two pre -prescribed skills are available in battle, one “Feed Skill”, the ability to slow down time to choose the goals for attack and have time to put the skills buttons. There are no potions or other amplifiers. So you use involuntarily weakness of artificial intelligence: you lure the enemy one at a time and kill. It takes a lot of time, the monotonous process (both its own and someone else’s) is periodically stupid, and the locations are huge. That is why I changed the difficulty of "casual". Not even on Normal, too tired by that time.

And in the game there is a win -win "tactics". We hide one hero. The rest go into battle, while luring the enemies a little further from the place of their usual habitat. When everyone will die, and the enemies will disperse in places – we run out of a hidden character, resurrect everyone, repeat the "tactics". Enemies are usually not treated, but the risen heroes will run into a new battle full of strength.

Looking back at all of the above, it becomes offended by kyn. If only because the developers tried. In almost every mission, they tried to put a unique condition for passing. Once we will have to divide the characters into two groups interacting with each other during the operation. In the process of performing another task, a “partisan-single” will go to the enemy castle, which must open the gate to the main forces. Somewhere you have to attack, somewhere to defend yourself, several times in the way riddles will meet, pleasantly diversifying the gameplay. Melt the blocked snow on the road, go through ancient trials, collect kaleidospop-such tasks are always pleasing. And having entered a place called “Sund Temple”, I was even able to feel the atmosphere of adventure, which is inclined to consider an important part of any fantasy RPG. Anyway, the developers even managed to make a full-fledged stell-Mission! And let it be so furious that I almost deleted the game on it, the guys clearly tried!

Stell-Mission, where you need to manage village. You’ll get into the light – “vanshot” and “gamer”. You get on a mine – "Vanshot" and "Gamovery". So you have to lead them one at a time, by the millimeter. Well, at least enemies can be previously cut, using the main group

In addition, one cannot fail to note a rather decent graphics. Forests, snow, deserts, several cities and ancient temples – all this looks very nice. In addition, the arrangement of enemies at first glance seems reasonable, and brings aesthetic pleasure: archers are hiding somewhere above, magicians stand in the rear and conjure witchcraft, and dumb militant power is trying to crush heroes mass. It is a pity, of course, that because of the stupid AI and the features of “physics”, enemy magicians sometimes do not enter the battle until they get a two-handed ax on the head, and archers are completely tended to plant the entire ammunition in the nearest wall.

“Well, that’s all, a scribe, one on one against a large monster,” thought Brahm
“Well, everything, scribe, stuck in the texture,” thought the monster

Alas, the Kyn world lacks life, filling, something that was clearly lost in the process of creating and edition of the game. Here and there there are NPCs, from which you can’t stretch the words excess, although throughout the logic they had to give additional quests. Many places are directly shouting that they planned to place some kind of interestingness there. The only thing that has not gone anywhere is huge empty corridors, which will have to run the whole game. Of course, this is boring. And even “special conditions” do not help, because in fact, most of the time of the mission still boil down to the genocide of enemy troops.

Almost any mission passes just like that. We appear at the beginning of the card (arrow), run at one end of the location (1), click the button (more often – the dialog button with NPC), run to the other end of the location (2), again press the button, run at the end of the location (3)

But all this could be forgiven if it were not for the main omission – Kyn did not reward the player for his efforts. Completed the main task? Well done. Here you have money, buy what you need, and go to the next. Straight work, not a game, honestly. And even chests here are nothing more than a beautiful decoration. Is it a joke, with a fight to break through to a huge golden casket to find … a log, a piece of scrap metal, some kind of colored rag or other consumable for Kraft. The creation of objects, by the way, is a pure barter: we approach the designated special NPC badge, and look in the catalog what and in what quantity you need to bring in order to immediately pick up the armor or weapons.

So craft. Or not craft

You know, in many RPG there is a quest for collecting some kind of garbage. For example, collect three different locations on three different locations. Bring the third – get a prize. So, in Kyn there is a similar task too. You know what I got for the fact that for twelve hours “vacuum” each junk of the card? Stone! Stone! Yes, by that time I had three more of them!

Remember what I asked to do at the very beginning of the article? So. If you have done everything, and now you feel stupid – so you need. There is nothing to obey all the morons from the Internet. But, let’s say, everything went according to the instructions. You received a certain pleasure from a coffee tea with a chopping accus, and everything seems to be fine. That’s just the ass is clearly unhappy. She does not understand at all why it was necessary to take the first three steps, if it was possible to calmly immediately move on to the tasty. That’s somehow the same with kyn.

Say that the game is very bad, you can’t. At some points, it might like it. But in the end, I myself do not know why I spent as many as twenty -four hours. Moreover, eighteen to twenty of them-on the same extermination of the same type of monsters. Probably, I just become old, and I am learning to appreciate someone else’s work. But even given the respect for the work done, I cannot recommend Kyn to familiarize.

The most beautiful frame. Found in the final video

Tangrin Entertainment wanted to make a great game, but they forgot to say that “want” and “make” are different concepts. The locations turned out large and beautiful, but empty. The role system is too “automated”, and half the skills “cosplay” each other. At first, the battles seem good, but because of the same type of enemies and lack of strategic capabilities, they quickly get bored. Only puzzles, which are too small to compensate the rest of the shortcomings, do not cease to delight. The developers swung too high, could not calculate the forces, and in the end instead of a small and cozy role -playing, they gave out a large but empty and inaccurate game. Verdict – "commendable" for efforts, but "passing" with a stretch by the result.

I am an anarchist. I want one positive to insert, I want – two

Inscriptions on the graves are the most funny that is in the game. Apart from the dancing gups … Ugh you, Avshirov

We will go, we will rush, on dogs right into the river

Catapult, screw it up. I will collect and leave and leave

Curling? Hockey? Viking test!

It looks like something was supposed to be here. But in fact, it seems like a dead end

You think there was something valuable in the chest? And here they did not guess

I just sent them to open a chest. And they did not understand what a "staircase" is
